Care and maintenance

At BIBA, we work with natural materials and artisanal techniques that create pieces with their own character and a beauty that evolves over time, defined by the perfect imperfection of living materials.

With time and use, each piece transforms subtly. Variations in color or texture, as well as small marks caused by friction or light exposure, are part of its identity and express the nature of the material.

To preserve its essence, we recommend balanced use to help maintain its original shape. It is also important to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, heat sources, or humidity. Under certain conditions, contact between different fabrics and between light and dark colors may cause slight color transfer.

Smooth leather

For the daily care of smooth leather pieces, a soft, dry cloth is sufficient. In case of moisture, dry the piece immediately without rubbing it.

When not in use, store it in its original dust bag in a dry and ventilated place. To nourish and protect the leather, you may occasionally use our BIBA Balm, formulated with natural waxes and oils to maintain its flexibility and original feel.

Suede, split leather and nubuck

For suede, split leather or nubuck pieces, specific dry care is recommended using a special suede and nubuck brush with a soft rubber head and nylon bristles. These types of materials should not be treated with balms, creams or oily products, as they may alter their natural feel and finish.
